Some senior U.S. Air Force officials were notified yesterday that there was no pilot ejection from the F-22 that crashed near Edwards AFB Base.
30-03-2009 - Edwards Air Force Base, CA -- The Lockheed Martin pilot was declared dead at the hospital which seemed to indicate he was killed after ejection, but officials at Edwards said that statement was simply a pro forma statement for the investigation.

USAF officials said the report of no ejection came soon after the crash, but almost immediately a complete security blanket was dropped over the investigation and no more data has been revealed.

COMMENTS:

continue the production of this fighter, it is the most advance aand the most lethal in your arsenal. it is a multi-role fighter, it can fight air to air and do some air to ground role, it will do precision surgical strike! it is expensive because you only buy a small number of it and you buy 1000 unit the price will go down considerably!

retire most of the older plane, it will cost you more in maintenance, fighter will age considerably because they fly DIFFERENTLY than othe planes!

if you want heavy hitter for bombing, use the bomber because one bomber can hit many target, it carry more, continue the development of next generation bomber

for close air support use the A-10 and attack helicopter, and accelarate the development of the F-35B, its the future of combat aircaft. make it lighter due to the research in composite material and research on more powerful efficient engine

dont fight all nation battle if not, they have no right to be nations

For this conclusion buy more F-22! its the best fighter in the world and its a multi-role combat aircraft

The F15 is the most lethal in the arsenal with a combat record of 100+ air to air victories for 0 losses.

F-15(E), F-16, and F-18 are all VERY capable of air-to-ground, and they can carry a much wider array of weapons like the AGM-65 Maverick and AGM-88 HARM.

Even if you buy 1000 of them, it would still be the most expensive fighter in the world. Research and development for stealth cost about $50 billion, with another $15 billion going to procurement costs.

The A10 is EXTREMELY old, and there are NO plans to replace it. Also, the Ah-64 is getting old and there are no plans to replace it also. The stealth Comanche program was cancelled, while Russia still made the stealth Black Shark. What does that tell you about USA close-in plans?

To maintain 1 new F22 will still cost a LOT more than maintaining 1 old F15. The F22 does not have many common parts from other planes. For example, you can use some parts from the older AN/APG-65 radar to fix the newer An/APG-73 radar. However, no other planes have the phased array. Also, while "normal" planes simply have a coat of paint, the F22 has a special RAM coating and special paint. These will have to be worked on often.

Basically, I think we should have spent the $65 billion to upgrade our current planes with better sensors and weapons. Also, we should have a fleet UCAVs which are dirt cheap. The F22 may be the last real fighter jet. The future is unmanned.

the f-22 is the best airplane i ever seen. we need air supremacy over the US 24/7. if we don't. we WILL have more suicidal plane hiting the county. We need good fighters to keep the bads guys out Right. so don't stop the f-22 now. it will be very bad if we stop making airplanes. What would you think if think if 9/11 happened again!! then what? we start all over again trying to protect the county. Thank you and bye-bye.

PS i'm trying to become a Raptor pilot.

I wonder how much it would cost to buy an F-22 for my daily commute... That'd turn some heads at the office.
